Description

Syme-Woolner supports and engages our community members from childhood through adolescence and adulthood. Parents and children enjoy the Family Resource Centre located inside George Syme Community School. The centre runs a daily program, licensed childcare, After-School and children’s breakfast and lunch programs in several schools. Women’s groups and Spanish, Somali, Punjabi/Urdu, Vietnamese programs are also run at the centre and neighbouring locations. Youth are engaged in a weekly drop-in night at our Eglinton West Drop-In and through a weeknight recreational program known as ‘The Rock’ at Rockcliffe Middle School. Syme-Woolner operates Eglinton West Drop-In and Jane’s Place Drop-In to support the housing, income, food security and emergency crisis needs of adult members of our community. As a complement and extension of our drop-in centres, we provide services for vulnerable adults such as Homeless Outreach, Harm Reduction, HIV Prevention, and Injection Drug User Outreach.
